What: Theatre Exile’s beloved Cabaret is returning from Exile, this year in a virtual format. In these
especially challenging times, the virtual Cabaret is Theatre Exile’s most important fundraiser in 2020 and supports free outreach programs, mainstage productions, and new play development efforts. Each event and raffle ticket purchased will help ensure that Theatre Exile continues its groundbreaking work to provide fearless and risk-taking theater in South Philadelphia and beyond.
Cabaret of the Exiled will be broadcasted via Zoom and features performances by the nationally
renowned Philadelphia icon Miss Martha Graham Cracker; Anthony Martinez-Briggs, curator of ILL
DOOTS; Dot Levine of Dottie’s Serenade Service; Trey Lyford as Daryl Hannah from Elephant Room and many more. The evening will be emceed by best-selling author and playwright R. Eric Thomas, who held a virtual script reading with Theatre Exile this past summer. Before the show, guests will enjoy a preshow cocktail mixing with Palmer Distilling from the comfort of their own home. Post show, guests can stick around for a special immersive experience with DJ Cheryl Gittings and Klip Collective.
In addition to dazzling performances throughout the night, an online auction featuring exciting raffle prizes will be available for guests to bid on. Auction items include a private virtual whiskey tasting with Fergie Carey of Fergie’s Pub, The Fairview, The Goat, and Grace Tavern; a private Zoom call and Q&A with Hall of Fame sportswriter and writer of Tommy and Me, Ray Didinger; and a private virtual cooking class with Mary Ann Brancaccio of August Restaurant; and more.
