As part of Smithsonian Museum Day, the Penn Museum is offering free admission on April 4, along with more than 82 other cultural attractions across the tri-state region.
In Philadelphia, three other museums are offering free admission that day: the American Swedish Historical Museum, Institute of Contemporary Art, and the National Museum of American Jewish History.
Also offering free admission are 48 other cultural attractions across Pennsylvania, 28 in New Jersey, and six in Delaware.

A “must see” destination, the Penn Museum invites its guests to explore Ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece, Asia, the Middle East, and its newest galleries showcasing Africa, Mexico, and Central America—to find their own place in the arc of human history.
Featuring a brand new, light-filled Main Entrance that shines the spotlight on the 12.5-ton red granite Sphinx of the Pharaoh Ramses II (one of the city’s top cultural attractions since its arrival in 1913), the Penn Museum houses 10,000 years of history from across the globe—and it’s all right across the street from Penn’s Franklin Field.
