THE BED SHOW will be making its Philadelphia premiere during Philly Theatre Week: Saturday, February 8th (Fishtown) and February 14th (West Philly). There will be two showings a night at 7pm and 9pm. The show runs seventy minutes. The address for the will be released upon ticket purchase. The show is conceived by Sean Pollock, originally directed by Hana Mastrogiacomo featuring contributing material by Emma Howard, Jon Schuta and Nuria Hunter.
THE BED SHOW is an immersive site-specific talk show where participation is strongly encouraged! Philadelphia newcomer Sean Pollock with co-host, Nuria Hunter will cover all things “bed culture:” the history of beds, bed horror stories, the mattress industry to personal relationships to beds, sleep, love, sexuality, and intimacy. Did we mention its performed in an actual bed in someone’s apartment? Think of it as the sleepover party you never had. An unforgettable night of intimate storytelling that brings the audience into the experience through a series of different games. Trust us, this is not your mother’s talk show.
“We all sleep. We all have lifelong relationships with our beds or where we rest. This is an immersive storytelling sleepover party–part storytelling show, part sleepover, part fun, part serious. Our show is an intimate, one of a kind experience with small audiences packed in a bedroom with a powerful lens into how we see our experiences and relationship to beds, sleep, and intimacy. After a short run in NYC in 2018, I’m psyched to bring this show to Philly and with the help of Nuria, help re-sculpt it and bring it back specifically for theatre week–and hopefully beyond!” –Sean Pollock
24 hours before each performance, ticket holders will be sent the address for their specific location. Seating may be limited, we highly encourage you to bring a pillow or cushion to sit on.
