Bravo Theatre Company celebrates 5th season performing CHESS: The Musical with The Chesco Pops

Bravo Theatre Company and The Chesco Pops presents CHESS: The Musical, which runs from August 9-11 at The Madeleine Wing Adler Theater on the campus of West Chester University.  This will be the fifth season of high-quality theatrical productions that Bravo has brought to the community of West Chester.

Performances will feature The Chesco Pops, an orchestra who has cemented their place in Chester County with high standard musicianship and programming. Bravo Theatre’s collaboration is in part to celebrate their fifth season of success as a burgeoning non-profit in the area and also to form partnerships with other community and professional organizations. Bravo came on the West Chester scene as a powerhouse and is continuing to provide the community with near-professional quality productions. Bravo Theatre Company is comprised of amateurs and professionals from the Greater Philadelphia Theatre Community, most of which volunteer their time and talent for the benefit our our audiences. Bravo believes that theatre should be accessible for everyone and they strive to bring the highest quality productions they can, while keeping their ticket prices affordable.

CHESS: The Musical is the story of American and Russian grandmasters competing for the title of World Chess Champion. A simple chess tournament turns into something much more complicated when politics and romance start moving pieces around the board. Williams, Bravo’s production of CHESS: The Musical will be fully staged and will feature The Chesco Pops under the direction of Joe Gehring, a chamber choir under the direction of Susan Guyer, music direction by Diane Gray, choreography by Emily Aaron Fishman, lighting design by Ed Robins, sound design by Christopher Koles, costumes by Kristen L. Mitchell, set design by Lawrence Hicks, and scenic design by Daniel K. Williams.
