Tony Award Winning ONCE, the Irish-Kissed Musical Sensation, Opens Arden Theatre Company’s 2018-19 Season

Directed by the Arden’s Producing Artistic Director Terry Nolan, performances of the critically-acclaimed show will begin on September 20 at the F. Otto Haas Stage.

The Tony Award winning musical sensation ONCE is coming to Philadelphia’s Arden Theatre Company.  The Irish-kissed show, which features the popular song “Falling Slowly,” kicks off the Arden’s 2018-19 season starting September 20 at the F. Otto Haas Stage.

Winner of eight 2012 Tony Awards including Best Musical, ONCE tells the tale of a Dublin street musician who’s about to give up on his dream when a beautiful young woman takes a sudden interest in his love songs. As the chemistry between them grows, his music soars to powerful new heights. However, their unlikely connection turns out to be deeper and more complex than your everyday romance. Emotionally captivating and theatrically breathtaking, ONCE is an unforgettable story about going for your dreams, not living in fear, and the power of music to connect all of us.

“ONCE is a celebration of the power of music to bring people together,” said Arden’s Producing Artistic Director Terry Nolan.  “Music can connect us, transport us, even heal us.  ONCE is a musical that we need right now, one that reminds us that we are all on this together.”

The cast for ONCE includes Ken Allen Neely as Guy, Katherine Fried as Girl, Scott Greer as Billy, Greg Wood as Da, Emily Mikesell as Baruska, Kendal Hartse as Reza, Mary Fishburne as Ex-Girlfriend, Alex Bechtel as Andrej, Skip Robinson as Svec, Justin Yoder as Eamon, Charlie DelMarcelle as Bank Manager, and Josh Totora as Emcee.
